Bakerville Library Approved for Grant

New Hartford, CT – October 27, 2016 – The Bakerville Library has been approved for a grant of $12,100 from the Draper Foundation Fund, a fund of the Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation, to support electrical system updates.

These updates are part of a larger project to develop the Bakerville Library Annex, a newly purchased building next door to the library, into a fully functioning community center. The next step will be to upgrade the heating system and install air conditioning. The proceeds from the annual car raffle will help with that stage of the project.

The Annex has been used for the library’s large annual events, such as the Bakerville Holiday Festival, The Perfect Pair, the Community Pig Roast, and the Boo Fest, and smaller activities, such as greeting card workshops and weekly ping pong. Two Girl Scout troops also meet there.
